I’ve been able to find lots of great options for washing my toddler, but when it comes to soaps my four-year-old will like, it’s been a struggle. Many of the brand name hand soaps and washes are full of synthetic chemicals. The last thing I want my son to smell like is artificial watermelon. I mean seriously, it’s gross.
While perusing my favorite shopping site, Alice.com, I found a brand called Dude Vicious. The crazy label and name caught my attention, so I emailed them to learn more about the brand. Turns out they’re safe and natural, and somewhat local to my area. (Cool!) They sent me a sample of Lil’ Dude Vicious cleansing soap to try out.
I. Love. This. Stuff. And more importantly, my son loves it. I now keep a pump of Lil’ Dude Vicious in his bathroom as his hand soap, and in our shower as his hair/body soap. It’s a thin liquid formula with a foaming pump, and he loves the way the “bubbles” come out. For me, it means the formula is easy to spread on his body.
Since it’s a little drying for the hair, I usually stick to a normal shampoo. But I love using Dude Vicious for the rest of his body. The aroma is fairly strong, mostly lavender-oriented. (It doesn’t smell “boyish” to me, whatever that means.) (But it doesn’t smelly girly either.) The price is great (you can’t tell in the picture but the bottle is HUGE, we’re talking 18 ounces of soap.)
I’m not sure about the whole “for boys” or “for girls” part, but I’m guessing that when it comes to older kids and tweens, this kind of stuff is important. ;)
I love their mission: “Products made especially for kids, tweens and teens who believe (or Mom’s and Dad’s believe) in treating their skin naturally.”
Dude Vicious carries a bunch of other products, including chemical free nail polish and a yummy peppermint lip balm (for guys and girls) that me and my son loved. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this fun brand.
