Your Mama Likes the Wow! Cleaning Kit for Wood Floors

I have wood floors in about 50% of my house.  They never really look all that dirty – and so they don’t really get cleaned all that often.  When I do clean them, I’m always surprised by how dirty they actually are.  Oops!

Then I was sent a WOW! Cleaning Kit for wood and laminate floors to test out.  Now, my wood floors are cleaned far more regularly and in far less time.  I’m a much happier wood floor owner – and our socks are a lot cleaner too.

Here’s what’s great about this kit:

• Just spray the laminate / wood floor cleaner and wipe it up with the provied mop.
• The mop head is washable and resusable – no waste!
• It’s sturdy and strong – much better than the leading floor sweeper kit (cough, Swiffer, cough)
• The floors look shiny and clean when you’re done!
• The cleaner is alcohol and ammonia free – so it’s nontoxic.  Safe for pets and babies!
• It smells nice but not too strong.

Things I don’t like about the kit:

• If your floors are really dirty, the spray/wipe isn’t really enough.
• If you have a big area to clean, that one pad can get dirty really fast.  (Get an extra.)
• The cleaner can streak if you don’t wipe until it’s dry.

I also tested an upholstery cleaner that worked well and a pet urine odor eliminator that, well, didn’t work at all from Black Diamond.  Available at Wal-Mart (and there’s a coupon on their site!), it’s a good alternative to disposable, toxic floor cleaners.
