I’ve been eyeballing baby leggings and legwarmers for a long while now. I mean, they’re absolutely adorable, right? I’d look around for them idly while out shopping (they’re impossible to find) and while I knew there were online retailers for them, I wanted to get my hands on an actual pair and give them a try before I ordered some.
Well, then I found Nifty Knees. This is a company run by two moms that I first heard about on a local forum, and it was the fact that they’re hyperlocal to me that made me decide to take the leap of faith and order legwarmers online. Support the local economy and all!
As it turns out, I need not have worried about whether I’d like the legwarmers, because I LOVE THEM. My daughter is 9.5 months old and on the move constantly, and Nifty Knees keep up with her. They don’t slouch or gather or slide down over her feet and trip her up, even after an entire day of wearing (including a nap). They also don’t hug her legs so tightly that they leave marks; when I (reluctantly!) took off her Nifty Knees at the end of the day, her chubby thighs had just a faint indentation where the Nifty Knees had been.
I ordered three pairs — two holiday patterns, and one rainbow striped pair that my husband lovingly refers to as “Lifesavers legs”. They’ve all been through the wash and show absolutely no sign of being changed; they still fit just as well.
Nifty Knees also makes tees and onesies in newborn to toddler sizes. I’m thinking about getting my little lady the DRAMA QUEEN one for her birthday, because it’s totally appropriate for her. Not only that, but they sell a few different styles of fleece hats as well that are perfectly suited to our Canadian winters (or at least, the winters where we get snow…). I also can’t finish this review without mentioning how amazing their customer service is. I’ve chatted with one of the owners on Twitter and through email, and she’s addressed my questions and thoughts very speedily.

There are so many leggings from the Nifty Knees store that I love for my 2 children. But if I only had to choose 1 or 2, then I would say that my favorite leggings are the Cozy Red and the Polkadots Skulls. I love love love the seasonal collection also!
