Your Mama Love SoftBums Organic Bamboo Diapers

That’s right, folks – Your mama LOVES them.  And I don’t think I’ve said that about many diapers lately.

I stick with my BumGenius 3.0′s pretty much exclusively.  My drawer is stuffed with them.  I like my AppleCheeks quite a bit and can handle the SwaddleBees and an occasional Bumkins cover with an insert of some sort.  But I don’t really love any of them all that much as I like the BG’s.

But my new love?  The SoftBums all-in-2 diaper system.

What’s an ‘all-in-2′?  The All-in-2 is a 2-part diaper system.  The outer is a super stretchy cover with a soft fleece liner.  The inner is a really absorbent snap-in liner that you use much like a prefold (but it’s much, much more absorbent, far softer and a lot trimmer).

Look and Feel
The Softbums are cute and basic in look. They come in bright, fun colors (check out my orange – called Nuclear Pumpkin. My fav color at the moment.).  They’re going to be making some prints soon, but for now, there’s a decent color selection and of course, the all essential white (which most AIO’s don’t make) which is fantastic for under little girl’s dresses.

The covers feel pretty much like any other diaper cover, although a little thinner.  The outer PUL is soft and very stretchy;  the interior is lined with a really soft fleece.  The liner is where it gets good – or, great really.  The liner is so incredibly soft I wanted to rub my face against it instead of putting it on my little one’s bottom.  It’s incredible.  I tried both the bamboo with fleece and the bamboo with – get this – velour.  The velour is where it’s at, though they’re both really nice. подъемный кран со стрелой и опорной поворотной мачтой To Kill a Mockingbird movies

The diapers looked like they were going to be way too small at first – but, true to their word, they fit perfectly.  I wasn’t able to try them on a newborn, but I have no doubt they’d have worked perfectly (see photo for proof).

For my daughter, their unique stretchy elastic sizing system worked wonderfully.  I first pulled it too loose, then just simply tightened the fasteners back up to get it where I wanted it.  The elastic is so stretch you can keep it shorter then you think you need it so the legs are nice and tight around the top of the thighs.  It’s got plenty of room to grow with my babygirl over her next few years of diaper wearing.

But Do They Work?
Yes! These diapers didn’t leak for me at all.  AT ALL.  Not once.  I really like these diapers and can see myself investing in a couple more to have around for the next couple years.  We’ll see how the Velcro stands up (that’s always a test and even my BGs are getting a little worn), but the sizing system and materials are great.

The intent is to be able to re-use the covers after the insert is soiled, but I didn’t find that possible because of the fleece lining in the cover.  If the diaper was just a #1 diaper, I could use it again – but with a full blow-out, the leg gussets were all soiled and covered along with the liner.  Of course, that happens with covers/prefolds too, so it’s to be expected, and at least you can get a couple more wears out of them than a normal AIO.

Overall
This is a great diaper system – especially if you’re considering investing in a full supply up front like a lot of parents do.  If you’re considering the BumGenius starter packs, take a look at SoftBums 6-pack.  It comes with 6 covers and 18 inserts – all for around $220.  That’s around $12 per diaper change.   They work well and will last for the life of your diapering requirements.
