Your Mama Loves Hip Cloth Diapers

In my endless quest to find great cloth diapers, I came across Urban Fluff, a cloth diaper company out of the US. Heather Nerheim, the president and founder of Urban Fluff, sent me a One Size AIO Urban Fluff and a Deluxe Fluff to try out.

Urban Fluff caught my eye because their website is just adorable. I love Cloth Diaper companies with a hip, modern look. I think it’s really important for Cloth Diapering to get exposed to a broader audience. It’s a misconception that you have to be the ultimate homemaker or super crunchy to cloth diaper. I love companies that focus on the fashion-slant—sometimes a little cuteness is all it takes to convert a disposable diaper user.

(Especially if they have two boys and no cute dresses or bloomers to buy.)

The Deluxe Fluff is very, very soft. Like, insanely soft. It comes with a doubler, and I found it to be very absorbent. The Velcro-type closures are wider than those seen on Bum Genius diapers or Thirsties covers.

urbanI really liked using the One Size AIO. This also features a long, skinny “insert” that snaps in. It dries very quickly, and it’s made of a softer, more felt-like material than the terry inserts I find in most diapers. Because it’s long and skinny, you can fold it to fit the rise you have the diaper snapped to. You can also fold it to be thicker in the front if you have front-wetter.

urban03My favorite part, as usual, was the color. The One Size comes in a deep chocolate brown with a colored fleece interior that sticks out a little. (The rolled out interior helps prevent wicking. Don’t ask me how that works, but it does.)

Mine was chocolate and blue, but they also come with yellow, pink and orange liners. Cute stuff, dudes. I love dark colors on baby clothes and diapers.

The good news for your wallet is that Urban Fluff is liquidating all their stock in preparation for a new product line launch for fall. The bad news is that the diapers I tried out are only available for a bit longer. (I can’t wait to see what the new dipes are like.)

Pros:

  • Cute! Great colors.
  • Both styles are very soft.
  • They don’t leak.
  • Adjustable soaker.
  • Dries very quickly.

Cons:

  • The wide Velcro takes some getting used to. May be a little bulky on tiny babies, so if you don’t like bulk go with the sized diaper options from Urban Fluff instead of the One-Size.

urban01If you want to support a small business producing diapers in the US, and you love great color options, definitely check out Urban Fluff. Now is a great time to stock up at ridiculously cheap prices. (A diaper and soaker will run you about $13. Compare that at closer to $24. Dude.)

Check out the $10 diaper bin!
