Your Mama Likes the Jeep Traveler Tandem Stroller

Jeep Traveler Tandem Stroller

When the girls graduated to big girl car seats, I realized we needed to say goodbye to our beloved Double Snap n Go A Night to Dismember movie .

I thought we were going to use the Kolcraft Contours Options stroller

Bulletproof rip

. It seemed to have everything we needed and plenty of great reviews. But when I really got down to business in testing it out, I realized I couldn’t lift the damned thing up by myself. Folded up, the stroller weighs a hefty 54 pounds!

Thankfully, we found the Jeep Traveler Tandem stroller. It’s a relatively new stroller that’s very similar to the Kolcraft (they’re the same parent company, actually). However, the Jeep folds up – incredibly – almost as compact as the Double Snap n Go (well, plus a few inches) and weighs in at a friendlier 38 pounds. Though I have to flex a few muscles to pick it up, I certainly don’t need help.

Absolute Power movie

Pros

  • Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy to fold up.
  • Folded up, it easily fits into the trunk of my Honda Accord with some room to spare for grocery bags.
  • Decent amount of cargo space under the babies’ feet.
  • Unlike many tandem strollers, both seats recline (though the front one doesn’t lay flat like the back one).
  • Can be used with many popular models of infant seats to work for an infant/toddler set of children.
  • The handle expands when the stroller is folded so you can wheel it around like a piece of luggage.

Cons

  • Cup holders are an afterthought. The one adult cup holder sticks out of the side of the stroller handle, banging into doorways. It easily detaches so it’s often left/lost in the trunk somewhere.
  • Maybe it’s because my girls are still on the small side, but they’ve managed to get their arms out of the security straps. Luckily, there haven’t been any accidents…
  • Obviously, the front passenger gets the “cool” seat with a cup holder and a steering wheel. If your kids are competitive, there will be squabbles.
  • The sunshades are shit. They don’t block the sun unless it’s directly overhead, and they’re so floppy that they’re constantly falling down/on top of a baby. The rear shade really gets in the way when you try to lay the stroller down in the trunk and can actually impede folding the stroller up.

Overall, I’m happy with the stroller. Considering the price tag (well under $200), the compactness and the versatility, the Jeep Traveler Tandem is a keeper.

Thank you for your review! I’m going to have to purchase a tandem stroller soon and not knowing what is what is difficult. I appreciate your review more than you know!
