When I read stuff like, oh, that a bunch of popular BABY products have FORMALDAHYDE in them (why are those two words even in the same sentence?!), I get a little sketched out. Call me crazy.
Luckily, a local company called Verona Organics offered to send along some of their organic baby products to try out on my girls.
Honestly, while I like the idea of supporting local merchants and putting crunchy-granola-organic stuff on my babies, I’m a seriously LAZY and CHEAP person at heart. So I was pretty skeptical at what I saw on the website. Seven dollars for four ounces of baby wash? My liquid formaldehyd
Keeping Mum e Johnson’s is like $3 for 800 ounces at Sam’s Club.
Anyhow.
I loved it.
Really. And I didn’t want to. Horrible, right?
But the baby wash is silky-soft and doesn’t smell like an air freshener. The baby body oil absorbs quickly and doesn’t stink up my girls’ tender skin. The organic baby powder doesn’t remind me of the perfume aisle at TJ Maxx. The products just clean my babies and make their skin ultra soft and touchable – just like they show in the commercials, sans creepy artificial ingredients.
Unfortunately, the bum balm doesn’t work for my girls. They have very finicky butt skin that only reacts to Desitin Creamy for some reason.
What about the price? Well, I’ve been using the baby wash and baby body oil every other night on two babies (that’s the equivalent of one baby every night – you do the math) for a month and we’re only about a third of the way through those seemingly tiny bottles of liquid deliciousness. I suppose it’s no Johnson & Johnson’s, but it’ll do . . .

I learned that not only do they use only sustainably harvested, organic or wild-crafted, un-sprayed butters, oils, and waxes, but they are happy to provide a list of ingredients. If you have ever tried contacting a company for an explanation of the ingredients in a product (ie what exactly does ‘fragrance’ include? are we talking phthalates or essential oils?), you will know a company that will openly provide ingredients – and advertise that on the front page of their website – is a very good thing!
