Your Mama Loves Soft Muslin Swaddling Wraps

125x125I attribute both my son’s good sleeping habits to the amount of time they spent snugly swaddled as newborns.  Swaddling doesn’t work for everyone, but for me it was miraculous.  When my boys were swaddled, I used the Kiddopatomus wraps with Velcro Jump In! video .  Just after my second son grew too big to swaddle, I read about Aden and Anais muslin wrap Jagged Edge dvdrip s and how popular they were.

I’d been chatting with Jo from Let’s Go Strolling over Twitter for a while, and she offered to let me try her display blanket out to get a feel for it.  (I’m always dying to know if a popular product is really buzz-worthy.)

aden01When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was the gauzy weight of the fabric.  The soft, somewhat stretchy material really did seem absolutely perfect for swaddling.  On top of that, it was clearly perfect for warm weather climates.  Because of my son’s age, we could only use it for a blanket and for games of hide and seek and as a tent.  For the record, it worked very well as all of these and I got several compliments on how gorgeous and soft the fabric was.

Luckily, my sister in law finally had my nephew (on his due date!) and a week later we drove an hour to where she lives to meet the baby and drop off some gifts.  I asked how they were doing swaddling and she admitted some difficulty.

aden02I pulled out the Aden and Anais wrap and eyed the tiny baby in my lap.   The blanket looked way too big.  But I gave it try anyway.  Amazingly, thanks to the super lightweight fabric, the swaddle turned out perfect.  I left them with the blanket and they’ve reported continued success with it as a swaddling blanket.

At $44 for four blankets, these muslin wraps are significantly cheaper than the organic blankets I used for my sons.  (They’re about the same price as the regular “swaddle me” Velcro wraps.)  Because they’re so big, you don’t need any Velcro.  The edges fold nicely all around the baby to keep him snug.

I highly recommend these to any expecting parents.  If you need help swaddling, do a search on YouTube for tutorials.

aden031Until September, Let’s Go Strolling is offering our readers 10% off Aden and Anais muslin wraps. Little Children on dvd Use code AdenYMR10 at checkout. This is a real steal, guys.  It makes my uterus ache for another tiny newborn to wrap.  For now I’ll be borrowing my little nephew for all my baby burrito needs.
