After investing in a few nice bras and receiving a couple to review, I figured it was time to learn to wash them properly. But between the cloth diaper loads I do and my own giant family loads, I didn’t forsee a lot of time for hand washing.
Luckily, I noticed the Bra Washing Cube at A Mother’s Boutique. I purchased it with high hopes. My only disappointment was the the cube is in fact sort of an amorphous triangular blob.
(Everything else about it is awesome.)
You unzip it, stick one or two bras in there, and you toss the whole thing in a regular wash. Thanks to the meshy goodness, your bra gets washed without tangling around everything.
(I once had a bra get stretched to like three feet long from getting stuck around the agitator. Bad times.)
I’ve been using the Bra Washing Cube for a few months now, and it works wonders. When I throw my clothes in the dryer, I just rescue my bra from the cube, and I hang it from one of the cabinets over my washer an dryer. No fuss.
This is a great tool for your nursing bras, but it’s really wonderful for any sort of bra, so I think this is an appropriate tool (must-have even) for any woman who wears bras they don’t want to hand wash or destroy. I’ve also used it to wash cloth nursing pads and some unmentionables.
As a bonus, you can leave it unzipped and your toddler can run around acting like it’s a giant white Pac Mac.
Blade Runner the movie At just $7 it’s not going to break the bank. I consider a nice insurance policy for the bras that cost me four or five times that much.

Any of the nursing camis would make a great gift for a new mom (I especially loved the Bravado ones). 1st time pregnant women always thinks they’ll only need nursing bras, but don’t realize how self-conscious they’ll be about exposing that stretched out post-partum tummy after baby arrives. I have already entered but just wanted to add a comment. I usually handwash but I seriously feel like they are more clean when done in the machine on a gentle cycle. I always hook them before washing and drying but they always come unhooked at some point and then get tangled in either the machinery or other clothes. I would love to use something like the Cube.

A gift certificate is probably the best gift for a new mother. You never know what she will need or what size she is or feels comfortable in, so I would certainly hesitate to buy nursingwear or maternity clothes for her. I’d rather give her the option to choose something for herself!

A wonderful gift for a new mom would be one of the bebe au lait nursing covers. I have one of those and it is amazing – so handy for nursing in public!
I also think a pair of nursing pajamas is an excellent gift idea for a new mama. The MJ by Majamas is an especially good choice.
I like the Ruffles Henley nursing tee, if she’s a nursing mom. I had the hardest time finding clothes I could wear out in public and get to my “bottles” to nurse in. I always tossed a receiving cloth over my shoulder and the baby for privacy, but getting the clothes to cooperate in the dark was not always easy. They have some nice, fashionable things there.
Thanks for having the giveaway!
I would give a sling to any new mom. Slings are lifewavers!

The Maya Wrap Original sling is the CLASSIC gift for a mom. Oh & this bra cube idea is FABULOUS. Why? Because TODAY I flooded my entire house, as I was trying to hand wash my bras. I put them in the wash sink with woolite, turned on the water – then the doorbell rang & I went outside for about an hour to talk to my friend. When I came in my laundry room, bathroom, dining room, living room and entrance were completely flooded. UGH – thank goodness i have tile floors and not carpeting.

The Madison Chemise Dress would be a great gift for a new mom — she’d probably be getting tons of baby stuff, so this would be a cute gift for her (and her husband, wink wink nudge nudge!)
It may not sound exciting to some, but I’m a new mom and would love the Shower Hug support band! I didn’t know anything like that existed and I’ve been wearing my bikini top in the shower.
Honestly, I think a $50 gift certificate would be great because it allows the new mom to choose something she really likes and wants.
You know what I always try to get new moms? HUGE GIGANTIC MAXI PADS AND TYLENOL. Totally not kidding. And Tucks pads if I know here well enough. No one ever tells new moms how much recovery sucks.
