Your Mama Loves Making a Good Impression

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee rip With BlogHer right around the corner, Twitter is buzzing with talk of business cards, swag and freebies. This will be my first year attending, and I decided to go with Moo cards. I discovered Moo cards over a year ago when they used to give samples of them with a paid Flickr account. At the time, I used them to make a batch of cards promoting my Ravelry account. (Not really sure why I expected to run into people who wanted to see my mediocre knitting projects on the Internet.)

moo01A couple of months ago I participated in a test run of Moo cards from Moo’s new facility in the United States. I ordered a batch, loved them, and then ordered another batch (with my own money) last week for BlogHer.

Why do I love Moo?

First of all, 100 MiniCards are just $20. You can use tons of photos—you don’t just have to print 100 of the same design. The copy on the back stays the same. You can’t completely customize the copy area, but they give you plenty of room to get your details on there, you can choose your font, and you can choose the font color.

For BlogHer (spoiler alert!) I used seven pictures of my kids on my MiniCards. I put my name, blog URLs, Twitter URL and a tag line on the back. Because I chose a few images, I have a variety of cards. (Yes, I put my kids on my business cards. Behold my mommyblogger-ness!)

MiniCards are about half the size of a normal business card. They’re printed on a thick, upscale stock. The colors come out gorgeous and the print quality is clear.

Federal Protection buy

moo_minicard_holdersI took my cards to a networking event last month and every single person I handed them to immediately wanted to know where to get MiniCards of their own. (They also wanted to know where to get the awesome little keychain card holder I have. Moo, baby.)

In addition to carrying adorable accessories, Moo also prints Greeting Cards, Business Cards, Postcards and Holiday Cards.

I love the style of the site. It’s easy to place an order, and the site is pretty. (I can’t stand eye-bleedy websites, especially when I’m trying to print something. I also don’t want to jump through unnecessary hoops. Moo is hoop-free.)

If you’re not into designs or photography of your own, Moo carries some lovely ready-made designs.

MiniCards are great as business/connection card for BlogHer, but they’re pretty versatile if you’re not a networking type. I’ve seen them used as gift card tags, to promote Etsy shops, save the date cards, and even as little reminder notes for kids to carry around a couple important phone numbers.

If you want to make an impression, I highly recommended MiniCards. (Also, I love cute things. And they’re officially extremely cute.)
