When I was first looking for a good nursing bra, a trusted friend recommended Bravado Undercover Brother download bras to me. But a bra in the neighborhood of 40-plus dollars? Eh, not my thing.
So, instead, I spent $15 on an ugly-trying-to-be-cute lace number and another $15 on a scratchy and uncomfortable sleep bra from Target. Then I bought a variety of nursing bras from Babies R Us that totaled more than $110. Still unsatisfied, I doled out another $35 at Motherhood Maternity for a swath of padded fabric that made my boobs look like flapjacks.
Total damage: nearly $200 for a bunch of bras I no longer wear.
I finally did my boobs justice and got a Bravado. I opted for the Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra. It’s one of their priciest bras, but I’m afflicted with perpetually half-mast nipples from nursing and this one comes with soft, removable pads.
You know how sometimes you just know that something’s going to look great on you before you even get it on? Yeah. As soon as I hooked the bra, the heavens parted and God smiled. For the first time in months, my boobs were lifted and separated.
This bra is . . . awesome. It’s amazing. It’s incredible, outstanding, incomparable. It was like dinner with Oprah and a hug from my Fairy Godmother. It conformed to my skin like soft-spun silk covered in melted butter, drizzled with silky Swiss chocolate and sprinkled with 24-carat gold flecks from the wings of angels. It felt so awesome that I briefly considered nursing my kids into their college years just so I could continue wearing it.
Loves.
And those removable pads actually tamed my rebellious nipples.
But the real reward came when, completely unsolicited and unaware that I was wearing a new bra, my husband glanced at my chest and remarked, “Nice rack.”
The bra is that good.
Aside from making great products, Bravado gets props for being environmentally and socially conscientious. They’ve also included tons of great nursing information. Be sure to sign up for their email offers for super-secret savings.
Lesson learned. When it comes to nursing bras, you get what you pay for.

Seriously, you should listen to your friends. LOVE my Bravados! Even though mine aren’t as glamorous, the Med Double ++ size for my monstrocity of a rack is soooo comfortable and easy to nurse in. I live in them.
Nice! I’m saving up to buy another Bravado…would love to win one!
I’m wearing my Bravado nursing tank RIGHT NOW. It’s the only one I have and I’d love a bra or two or four! I nurse for a long time- need one to last!
I tried the contest page but it doesn’t do anything for me. What am I doing wrong?

Fantastic post, I couldn’t agree more.
You didn’t mention what size cup you are…I edit a website – http://www.living-with-large-breasts.com – that is aimed at providing information to women with large breasts and finding a great nursing bra for very large breasts can be soooo difficult!! Would you recommend this bra for women with DDD+ cup sizes?
Cheers,
Billieann
