I experimented with slings (and a lot of other things) with my firstborn hat never saw the light of day with my second. Wearing the baby in a sling (front) sounded like a good idea and I was all gungho, but I could never get it and the baby to be comfortable for a decent length of time.

And call me paranoid, but I didn't like the idea of the backpack 'cause I was always afraid that something weird would happen and I wouldn't have a clue... I don't know - like some bird droppings falling on her head or something.

"The Kokopax carrier is a backpack with a metal frame – much like any serious outdoor backpack you might find if you live anywhere near wilderness, where people can actually hike"

It sounds like it will help with stability and mommy can set it down as well with baby in it. Great.

Funny how everyone wants to tell you what you "should" do. All the little ones have their own personalities. Some just are not cut out for packing on the back or slings.

Really love the idea. Maybe hiking clothes can guide someone there.
