When my son started school (two-year-old school twice a week in the mornings) in August I completely freaked out. With only a year of allergy management under my belt, I just wasn’t ready to turn him over to complete strangers. To top that off, they were going to serve peanut snacks in the classroom.
Luckily the day before classes started, they called me and said that the classroom would be peanut free. I found that comforting, but still had to purchase extra epi-pens for the teachers to keep at school. I left literature and obsessive notes but still felt helpless.
I purchased a medical alert bracelet, but he absolutely refused to wear it. It was just too bulky for his skinny little wrists. I spent an entire day scouring the Internet for products to help keep him safe and finally found STATKids
. I ordered a pack of Peanut Allergy silicon bracelets in the toddler size. When they arrived, they looked small to me. But they fit him great. (And still do.) He loved wearing them.
Many adults have commented on his Peanut Allergy bracelet. The font is easy to read, and eye-catching enough that adults bend down to read it and then immediately know what’s going on with him. He wears his bracelets to family gatherings, parties, theme parks, school, and anywhere I feel like someone might give him food without thinking.
The silicon wrist bands come in several varieties, including Gluten Free, Asthma, and Dairy Allergy.
I also bought a pack of Allergy Alert Stickers to toss on the backs of his shirts at birthday parties or places where the “danger factor” might be upped a little.
I don’t know what an older kid would think of these products. My son can’t read and he doesn’t really understand that his allergy makes him different. That being said, STATKids products have been an absolute sanity-saver for me. Adults and other kids get a plain and clear sign that my son has a life-threatening allergy. When he’s wearing his bracelet I’m still vigilant, but I feel like I have a small additional barrier between his safety and a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.
I contacted STATKids to let them know I’d be reviewing their products and they offered to share an exclusive discount with our readers. During the month of May, to support Allergy Awareness, EVERYTHING at STATKids is 10% off

These are by far the best silicone allergy bracelets I have found. i do not like the ones that say “peanut allergy — use epi pen”. These are simple and to the point.
I do agree with Rachel. There are a large number of products that induces silicone allergies. Adults and other kids get a plain and clear sign that my son has a life-threatening allergy.
For long distances opt for those luxury Coach Hire which offer specialized services such as wireless networks, leather seats, sky TV, catered meals and even conference facilities. Ensure you have enough people in your group to distribute the cost around and make the trip affordable.
I do agree that their products are helpful but doesn’t service matter too is it important too? I made an order with statkids.com, my order was delayed but i was never notified until I contact them myself. And my finally got my order I didn’t get my bracelet in the size I ordered, I ordered in small and they send me extra small. I told them about their mistake, and they told me I can send it back via usps express mail and make an exchange. I was happy about they are willing to make an exchange but I told them they should be responsible for the postal fees since it is entirely their mistake. So they so me if they have to be responsible for the postage then I can only send it back via regular mail which costs about $1 that is how much they are willing to reimburse. This just shows how much they care about their customers, they don’t want to take any responsibility for their mistakes. And I post a comment on their website but it didn’t get posted they keep only the good comments.
This is great information that is being shared here, giving you a round of applause
allergies can be a menacing sickness specially if you get stuffy nose and rashes all overy your body each day ‘:.
Those allergy bracelets you got for your son look great. Nothing too ‘medical’, and very clear and concise. Thanks for highlighting the STATKids.
Thanks for highlighting these, I think they can be really helpful without being too obtrusive and make the children look visibly ‘different’.
Allergy Bracelets?? My little one may find it hard to adjust to it but really, he’ll get by! I’ll make sure of that! Thanks for sharing this!
This is an interesting idea, good job they are not too noticeable, as children can be so cruel to those who they deem different.
My son is a teen and he is a type 1 diabetic. It would be great to get something similar to the allergy bracelets for his diabetics.
But, typical for a teen, I am sure he will not wear something that, in his teen mind, may be ridiculed by girls.
Do you have any ideas as to anything that may be welcomed by him and at the same time give a warning that he is a diabetic especially in a party or other gatherings?
