One of the biggest struggles I’ve had lately is keeping my three-year-old even vaguely quiet while my five-month-old is sleeping. It seems like without fail, as soon as I get the little guy conked out, the older one starts yelling or “revving his engines” or banging on things. Instant crying. Instant angry Mama. Complete nap Fail.
When I learned about the Sound Sleep for Babies CD, I figured it might help drown out the ridiculous startling noises that are constantly waking the baby up.
But I’ll be honest with you, I was pretty skeptical when I heard that the Sound Sleep for Babies CD was supposed to soothe crying and help babies sleep longer. I’ve tried white noise from fans and air purifiers and lullaby mobiles and other crib attachments. Nothing has ever seemed like a magical sleep solution.
I tried the CD the day I received it, just after lunchtime. I put the baby in his swing and cranked up the volume on my CD player. My first impression? Dude, this is weird. Soft, buzzing noises. A lot of texture to the sound. A vague hint of melody, and then a calm, slow heartbeat. It sounded a little like something I’d expect to hear while getting a massage at a spa.
About three minutes into the ambient sounds, I realized that my son was being absolutely quiet. He’d fallen asleep almost immediately. To top that off, I felt sleepy and relaxed as well.
Then, to my complete amazement, he proceeded to sleep for THREE HOURS.
This was, at the time, the longest daytime nap he’d taken in weeks. I had to wake him up because my boobs were hurting.
I was sold.
In the weeks since, I’ve continued to use the Sound Sleep for Babies CD, especially during the daytime naps. It doesn’t always work like instant magic, but when I use it, I find that he falls asleep more quickly and wakes less frequently.
I’ve also used the Sound Sleep for Babies CD to combat what I call the “witching hour,” that time the evening when the kids invariable seem to lose their minds. Not only does it help keep the little guy calm, it also seems to calm down my three-year-old. And THAT is magic.
According to the folks at Sound Science, SoundSleep for Babies uses the patent-pending WombEffect™ technology, combined with a proprietary lush, ambient low-frequency soundtrack.
I highly recommend Sound Sleep for Babies to new parents or parents of babies who are napping/sleeping poorly. Even if it doesn’t work like magic for you, the sounds will soothe and calm you without getting annoying preschool nursery rhymes stuck in your head. I’ve actually turned the CD on just for myself while digging into particularly frustrating work tasks.
(My husband and mother have both arrived at my house to find the baby sleeping and me hunched over my laptop listening to ambient womb sounds. They think I’m nuts.)

I always bath my little ones just before bedtime. We cuddle up together to keep them warm after their bath. We sometimes read, make up stories, or just chat. We say bedtime prayers. This works unless they don’t feel well. Blessings
I blinged my site.
I’m all about this. I’ve slept more since January this year than I did the sum total of last year. My 17th month old has been very difficult.
I find I sleep better if I keep a notepad by my bed. It’s nothing magical, just if I’m stressing over something and it’s going round and round in my head, I’ll write it down so that I’ll be sure to deal with it tomorrow. Then I can let it go and sleep!

Put them in their crib, not in a swing.
I have a 4 month old sweet girl. She sleeps pretty well at night because e cosleep and I nurse on demand. I think she has cried or fussed in the middle of the night three times. This is my suggestion to anyone, if it works for you of course.
I’m still trying to figure out naps. I have no idea what to do about those.
I have your bling
This may seem counter-intuitive, but I’ve found that when I just can’t seem to get to sleep I stop thinking about it. I’ve read that if you can’t sleep to get up and do something. I don’t usually get up, but I just stop thinking about it and then the next thing I know I’m waking up to my alarm the next morning!
don’t eat to close to bedtime
We try to stick to the same bed time each night. Also keeping it cool and dark usually works for us. I play a cd with ocean sounds and it sometimes helps but I think my kids have gotten too used to it we need something different.
We use a white noise machine in our son’s room. He have it cranked up pretty loud and it really does help. I am so used to it right next door to our room that I don’t know if I could sleep without it anymore either!
I added your button to my site!
For adult: bath, clean sheats, brush teach, fan on, lights and tvs off! That will help you sleep better! Thanks
My kids always sleep better when they have a bath at night, and a little snack before bedtime.
Whenever possible leave your bedroom window open a bit at night. The fresh air helps to give you a peaceful sleep.
I make sure our nighttime environment is as peaceful as possible, No heavy meals before bed, and sometimes run a small plastic fan for noise.
calm it down hours before- get stuff prepped out and ready for tomm right after dinner
I wish I could figure out how to get my little ones to sleep better! For me, I try to have some quiet time after the kids are finally asleep, a nice hot bubble bath, and I have a lavender sleep spray that I spray on my pillows to help me drift off…
Don’t hang out on your bed unless your sleeping.

I find its eaiser if things are the same everynight, happen in the same order at the same time. It greatly helps my son get to rest!
Following a routine, whether it’s bath, read, sing, then sleep, or play, read, drink, and sleep, any routines, will help a child go to bed easily, but make sure the routine doesn’t involve extra exciting physical activity or the child will make a fuss. Make it calm and slow.
no caffeine in the afternoon or evening :)
Exercise earlier in the day so you are tired at night
I find I sleep better if I do some deep breathing exercises before bedtime. It helps to slow my heartrate down and clear my thoughts of the days activities. I’ve been doing it for years now and I can’t complain most nights about being restless.
Everyone, and I do mean everyone, from adult to child to newborn babe, will sleep better in a cooler environment. Turn your heat down about five degrees before bed and not only will you save money, but you will be amazed at how much better you and the rest of your family sleep! I was stunned by the results when we started doing this; it really is phenomenal!
I love when the temp. is low enough that it makes me fall into a deep sleep.
My step-kid (age 5) frequently has a hard time sleeping due to a nasal problem (he inhailed a piece of sponge as a baby and it deformed his cartilege!) His nose is constantly stuffy so if he does sleep, he snores A LOT…making it hard for his 8 yr old brother to sleep. I have allergies so I sleep with a breathe-right strip and elevate my head slightly. We did this with him and BOOM, out like a light and no harsh snoring. Everybody sleeps soundly.
So, if there’s a chance that you may have a stuffed nose–which can cause you to wake up frequently in the night– breathe-right strips are a great non-medicinal alternative. They look a little funny but they WORK.
For us it is a nice relaxing bath at night time….of course it does not work for my 6 month old because she still does not sleep well…ugh…I could use this cd
One thing I do to help sleep is to try to get into bed at the same time almost every night. By doing this, you program your brain to know when it is time to go to sleep. This CD sounds wonderful to me. Thanks!
Before bedtime a warm bath, then reading a book seems to help my child sleep better
Oh, this is so current in my life right now. My days of small kids are over, but I understand not sleeping well. I work nights & have an awful time sleeping during the day. My best tip for restful sleep is keep the same schedule every day, even on weekends. Pretty much impossible or undesirable if you work nights, lol.
I would love to win this for either my grandson or who knows, maybe me, his grandma who has such an awful time sleeping, lol.
We make it easier to sleep by turning off the tv and letting go of reading and music that is overstimulating at least an hour before bed and having a nice cup of herbal tea. This makes a big difference
Paragoric works wonders with the little ones.
I found that an evening routine helped greatly! Approx. same time, same ‘events’ every night, nice and predictable. Has helped our baby immensely! She knows if something is out of order, or forgotten. And she lets us know!!
I heard that drinking a glass of milk or oj before bed helps you rest.

Thanks.
Sudoku puzzles and crosswords help me wind down before bed. They help to shut out all the other batty thoughts running through my head.
Take a hot bath, to relax the muscles and to relax youself, prior to bedtime.

I find that taking a shower or bath before bed makes me sleep best. Espically when its pitch black and some what cool in the room. My 7 year old daughter also seems to sleep better on nights where she showers in the evening.
My little one sleeps better if he takes a bath before bed! Thanks for the chance.
I think that making the room cooler at night seems to make babies sleep a little better. White noise also worked well for my baby.
My tip for sleeping these days is nap when they nap! I know I have a ton of things to do, but I have to take it when I can! I have a 14 month old and one due next month…I need sleep! Thanks!
Tip for Sleeping Better: Cover the alarm clock with something so that the room is pitch dark. Complete darkness seems to be more restful for me.

I sleep better when I read before bed. Reading always makes me tired. lol

My family sleeps better when it is cool in the house. If it is too warm, my kids tend to toss and turn and have difficulty sleeping.
Sleeping goes a whole lot better when 1)one has plenty of activity during the day and gets out and isn’t just cooped out at home (my boys resisted bedtime if we ever stayed home the whole day!) 2)it’s consistent — timing and routine 3)no hard core activity to pump yourself up before bed 4)if you find it hard to fall asleep, take a bath, read a book, do something calming 4)avoid caffeine!!
I sleep better if I don’t go to bed stressed. I’ll take 30 min. and read a book or take a bath before bed and it helps!
I read before bed and it always makes me sleepy
I have to always read a book for the kids. My son also like me to briefly rock them before placing in bed. I nurse the baby but she starting to wean herself off. Routine is what’s important.

White noise really does help with sleeping, and for some people, those tapes with various sounds, e.g. the jungle, the rain forest, etc. (but for me only the sounds of the ocean work)! This is a great giveaway and it sounds as if it actually works for babies, which is amazing!
I’m currently nursing twins.. nursing them helps everyone get sleepy so that makes for a good soother before bedtime :)
Since I’m an empty nester, I enjoy looking over family photos of my kids when they were little, and now of my two little granddaughters. It always makes me happy to see their faces before I close my eyes at night since they aren’t here with me.
I truly need this for my baby twins. They are startled and wakened by everything and I’m getting no sleep. To help them sleep, I’ve been doing infant massage. They are getting used to it and love the lower body massage portion. After finishing, they are loose and relaxed, ready for sleep. I just can’t do it after every feed, before every nap.
I always have a hot bubble bath and do some reading before bed to settle down. Thanks for the contest.
Try to keep your bedroom dark and quiet.
And I thought I was the sensible one. Thanks for sentitg me straight.
We sleep when the house is silent (no music, TV, etc. on).
reading before bed and a nice, fluffy pillow
I sleep with a fan on. It keeps the air moving at night and it helps to hide my husband’s snoring.
When my daughter was a newborn, we used a sleep positioner for her. Basically just a foam piece that stays under her arms and keeps her on her back (where it’s the safest for her to sleep), but for a newborn it also gives her that “closed in” feeling that newborns love. She slept great!

Looks like this is actually $24.95. Just to note.
for our family, having a bedtime routine helps alot. we brush teeth, get into pj’s, read a story, sing one lullabye, then nurse, and rub backs til they fall asleep. for especially hard nights, we use manuka honey and recue sleep spray, as well as spraying the pillows with lavender, or crushing fresh lavender and sprinking it under the pillows.
