AIO Showdown Week<br> Your Mama Loves Dream-Eze AIOs

Cloth diapering started as a personal choice to do something a little better for the environment. I wasn’t going to give myself any other choice: cloth or nothing.

Since then, it’s become nothing short of an addiction.

Other CD mamas can attest to this: once you start ordering fitteds, covers and AIOs, you get hooked. Oh bamboo? Organic? What a cute pattern! Snaps? One size? I’ve got one of just about everything – a huge stack of prefolds, multiple types, sizes and colors of covers, 20 some AIOs, 5 or so purchased fitteds, and about 30 fitteds that my mom made for my daughter before she was even born.

I’ve got a lot of diapers.

Some, however, stand out from the others. They are the diapers I choose as soon as they’re clean, from the top of the pile, for various reasons.

The Dream-Eze AIO Diaper

is one of those.

Horror Hospital rip I’m a sucker for good design, and the Dream-Eze AIO have great design.  The diaper comes in three fantastic colors – Kiwi, Mandarin and Blackberry – and the ones I tested were both Blackberry.  I would’ve been delighted with any of those three colors though – they’re vibrant and rich colors, not normal pastel baby colors (gag me).  Not a huge selection, but all three great.

The outer fabric is soft and durable, although the fabric is pilling a bit (just a tiny bit) on the bum where it rubs a lot.  The interior is organic cotton – almost like a sweatshirt material.  That’s right – an organic cotton AIO.  It’s really thick and heavy – it almost feels stiff when it’s on my baby, but not in a bad way, just thick. My favorite part of the diaper is that the two liners are sewn in only at one end so they dry really quickly.

Just look at those little thighs . . .Fit

This diaper has snaps so is really adjustable.  The Natural Baby Company sent me both a small and a medium to test, since Piper is between sizes (she’s around 15 lbs).  Both fit her wonderfully.  The leg gussets are elastic that is tight, but not too tight that she gets red indentations.  I also like how the front flaps over the side snap tabs – it just looks cute. I’m not sure if there is a function to that, but I like it.

But Does It Work?

Yes.  Fantastically, actually.  Of course, as you’ll see is the theme this week, Piper decided to take an epic poo to test out her brand new dipes almost every time I put one on her.  Neither the small nor the medium have leaked.  She’s not one to complain if she’s wet, so I don’t know that the material wicks well or not, but they’re wonderfully absorbent.

They also clean up really well – I’ve used both sunlight and OxiClean to get the stains out, and they both work so that my diapers smell and look like brand new.  Some diaper fabrics don’t ever come clean of stains, but these did.

Overall

I’m really happy with the Dream-Eze, and would recommend them to anyone.  The Natural Baby Company just came out with a new diaper, the GRO Baby system which I’m eager to try as well.  It looks like most of the same materials but with a pocket-style design.
