Your Mama Loves Mr. Clean Magic Erasers

I know, I know. You’re probably sitting there thinking, well duh. Who doesn’t, Andi. Spare me, puhlease!

Boot Camp movies But I honestly don’t think I’d be doing my part as the southeast’s single-greatest Magic Eraser fan if I didn’t tell you all about how freakin’ fantastic these things really are.

Magic Eraser can make these toes sparkling white again. Seriously.Dull stainless steel sink? Magic Eraser. Soap scummy bathtub? Magic Eraser. Filthy Converse Chuckie toes? Magic Eraser. Smudgy, food-stained laptop? Keep ‘em coming – you already know the answer.

If you’re looking for an answer to ‘How do I clean . . .?’, you should probably consider the Magic Eraser.

I’m pretty sure that my sis-in-law and I are single-handedly responsible for the success of this product in the state of Florida. I mean, we tell EVERYONE about how great it is. I even bought some to take to my mother-in-law’s house to show her how well they work – and that’s a risky move. Who honestly tells their mother-in-law how to clean?  Not since Oxi-Clean have I been so excited about a cleaning product.  (More on that later, I’m sure).

They’re great for a number of reasons.   You don’t need any other cleaning product (just get ‘em wet!), they don’t leave streaks or marks, and they last pretty darn long.   They’re cheap, too.  Less than $1 each when you buy the 4-pack.   They also come in nice scents and varying degrees of brawn – i.e. laced with Febreze or super-duty.

Some of the random and fantastic uses I’ve found (besides the above):

  • They clean up those cheapo white plastic patio chairs and tables that have been sitting on your porch for 5 or 6 years.
  • Remove scuff marks and fingerprints from walls, doors and baseboards.
  • Clean up stains on tile floors – stains you never Dot.Kill the movie thought would ever go away.
  • Clean all the gross out of your microwave and refrigerator, even those dirty door handles.
  • Car tires.  Black and shiny.  Hubcaps?  Check.  Fo’ realzies.
  • Remove crayon and magic marker from pretty much anything.
  • Stove burner pans and the surrounding stove-top.  Also works on glass-top stoves.
  • Did I mention they make your Chuck Taylor’s look brand new again?

And there are tons of lists out there of the zillion other uses of these little magic miracles.  Cars, homes, toys, clothes – they clean it with a single swipe.

I got a little Magic Eraser-happy and bought the Magic Eraser mop, too.  Bad move.  The mop left streaks on my floor and crumbled to pieces after a short while.  I’d stick with the little handheld sponges.  And don’t use them on high-gloss or wood finished items – they won’t amaze you there.  Stick to the tougher and painted surfaces for best effect.    When it begins to break down, just toss it and start with a new one.  Once you start, you’ll be wiping down your entire house in amazement.

I also love the Magic Eraser. It’s the one thing that FINALLY scrubbed the weird, water-resistant scum that had collected on my shower tile over a couple of years. (Gross, I know.) I have the mop, too, and am not a huge fan of it. Then again, I’ve never met a mop I liked anyhow.
