Do I have your attention then?
Back when I first started indulging in toys of the adult variety, the internet was a clunky little thing. Slow and quirky and certainly not as interactive and flat-out fabulous as it is now. There were no reviews, no ratings, no related products, no sorting and filtering.
Thanks to the magic of the little gremlins that run the internet and its technology, all that has changed. So when I find a site for adult gifts like EdenFantasys.com, I’m a happy, happy camper. The site is nicely laid out a la Amazon, with loads of reasons to stick around and shop. User reviews? Check. Browseable navigation? Check. Ratings? Check. Pictures? Yep. The search function actually WORKS. There’s a forum, a section with interviews, even an area for green sex toys.
One traditionally sketchy thing about ordering sex toys online is that you really never know what you’re getting because you can’t see the toy in person. But Eden Fantasys is extremely thorough and not scary. You don’t just get a thumbnail picture of the toy. You get several views of the toy, a wish list, popularity index, material safety rating, related forum posts, reviews, related toys, even a 1:1 actual size view of the toy (so you don’t end up with another fist-sized dildo. Ever. Again.).
Drew, a very not-scary dude from Eden Fantasys, asked if I wanted to check out a toy for review and do a giveaway on the site. Um, twist my arm? I selected the super-popular OhMiBod. Funny name, not-so-funny toy. This sucker runs off your iPod. OFF YOUR iPOD, PEOPLE. The cool factor was there. But did it work?
Yes, it worked. And it worked well. I opted to, uh, review this funky adult toy with my husband. We didn’t even have to follow the instructions — it’s really easy to put together, though we did fumble a bit with the headphones and I ended up getting tangled in the wires. I scrolled through and started out with my favorite, The Grateful Dead (didn’t see that one coming, did you?). Huh. Not bad. I was surprised that Jerry Garcia could elicit such a vibration. We moved on to Brian Setzer, then to Notorious B.I.G. (Which, oddly, ended up being a bad choice. First, the toy really seems to run off the treble, not the bass, of the song. Second, listening to Biggie Smalls rap about shooting people and committing suicide? Not sexy.)
Finally, I found it. Prince. Tuned to “Let’s Go Crazy” and it was over. This despite the fact that nursing twins has my sex drive at approximately 44 below asexual.
Aside from the OhMiBod’s novelty, this really is a quality sex toy. When you use it with the music and headphones, it allows you to escape into your own world. The lovely thing is, you can use the toy without the music as a traditional vibrator. It has several different speeds and rhythms, not just fast, super fast and oh-crap-I’m-totally-numb-already.
In case you’re worried, the billing and shipping are very discreet. No one even has to know you’re turning your iPod into a perv’s dream. If you have older kids who tend to stumble upon your private toy stash, you can always claim it’s a light saber.
