I’ve never been a huge fan of yogurt. There’s something a little sketchy about the flavor and texture. But after two kids, a pile of babyweight, and a handful of yeast infections, I know I need to take advantage of the health benefits of yogurt. (Evidently, yogurt can help make dieting more successful, can help fight osteoporosis, and can help keep your body’s good bacteria flourishing.) WebMD says it better.
The yogurt aisle at the grocery is pretty daunting. Fat free, low fat, sugar free, fruit on the bottom, granola at the top, sparkles and unicorns, you name it. Luckily my local grocery keeps the organic yogurts in one easier-to-digest area. This is where I discovered the Stonyfield Farm brand. Since I’m on a small weight loss mission, I wanted a low fat or fat free yogurt. Unfortunatley, most varieties contain artificial sweeteners. I have a personal preference to avoid them at all costs, mostly because I can detect the taste. And I think the taste is vaguely reminicsent of saccharine ass.
When I examined the yogurt container (trying to look like I knew what I was doing) I saw a “no artificial sweeteners” logo. Cool!
So far I have tried a few varieties, including blueberry, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate underground. The chocolate is by far my favorite. You get just enough chocolate taste to feel like you’re having a dessert–but it isn’t sickeningly sweet. I can have it for breakfast or in the afternoon without feeling like I’ve lost my mind.
At around 160 calories per serving and zero grams of fat, Stonyfield Farm organic yogurt makes me a happy (and full) mama. I clicked around their website and found some online coupons
. They want your email address though, so beware spam.

hands down my favorite and actually the only yogurt my family will eat!
I only buy these, brown cow, org. wallaby and other non-pectin containing yogurts. They are super yummy!
I love the SF’s choc underground for times I crave chocolate while preggy.
LOVE the low fat vanilla yogurt. I buy the big container and have it every morning for breakfast with fresh fruit and granola. YUMMMO!
